Why isn't Backgammon growing?

In Response To: Why isn't Backgammon growing? (Leonardo Jerkovic)

That is part of the solution. I think there are some other items that could be looked at:

1) A player charter applying to players in tournaments and clubs to respect the opponent and especially newcomers.

2) In tournaments, for the new players' division, record the match and have a good player go through some of the decisions, with the players as a training session (could be included in the entrance fee). Provided the 'prof' has the right type of tone, this could encourage people to come more often.

I think Misja's point is a good one, BTW.
