club points -- seeking ideas

Winning has to be at least as important as attendance.

I certainly want the payoff high for success. The details of how to get that are what I'm seeking. I know many clubs use multipliers for high finishes (as are detailed in some of these posts and the weblinks contained herein).

But I often get the impression that the systems used at many clubs are simply more seat-of-the-pants determined than based upon mathematical/probabilistic principles.
