Neil replies, the way to fix in the future is to run 100% Swiss like last year. The event finished at a decent hour last year. The change I'd make for sure to last year's format would be that when you get your 2nd loss, you go into some sort of conso or LC or whatever and when you lose again there, you're out of the event. Only 1 of the many player with two losses would survive to win a prize.

Perhaps that is a bit unwieldy for those with two losses, but they'd be playing 5 pt matches so it goes quickly and it is better than being completely out of the main. Quite a few players, including me, didn't like being out of last year's event after their second loss.
