Yes Chuck, all the faces can show the same thing. I didn't detail what the dice would do - but if it is a 6, 6 can show on all sides. If you are more of a purist you might like to have the dice drop with lit up pips on all sides in the same fashion as normal dice. You could flash the pips on the side with the active roll. Really comes down to the experience you want with electronic dice. There are a lot of options.

As for dropping on the floor or out of sight, that would be a problem of course (I totally agree).
