One of my many backgammon back burner projects is to put together a comprehensive test to administer to any player that would like to take it but more for the recognized top players in the world and see what they really know. It's sickening to me the holes in some of these players games because as we've demonstrated here, it's backgammon and the fact that you don't know a lot of things isn't going to harm you except in the rare instances where it comes up OtB.

This test would be brutally long and I would allow players to take it in intervals of X amount of questions at a time to not become fatigued but they could not look ahead on the test. Also, since it'd be such a bitch to grade, esp. depending on how I determine is best to grade it (multiple choice or questions with actual writing/explaining involved) and I (or some other trusted overseer) would have to watch them take it I might have to charge a fee.
