I don't know if there are only donkeys at fibs like me, but i play half the time the bots and i am now at Top 50. But getting a hooked visitor of bgonline, i know, my game is so week. Your suggestion is a great idea. This test has to deliver, after running it, a report which shows also the major deseases of your game.

The only test i know (and i had the idea, to revisit it with the bots for a long time, but i'm to lazy by now) is: "Backgammon Reno 86". I am a proud owner of a german translation.

I you would write such a book, i would buy it in a shot. Make it as a book on demand. Just a suggestion.

Perhaps backgammon is dramatically underrated for its complexity, but this is hidden due to the involved variance. But it is the greatest "come back" game i know and therefore highly social.
