The blockage of the 11pt is not really relevant. After anchoring, Blue is not likely to want to run from the anchor any time soon. The point of anchoring is to lock up a solid position and prevent White from obtaining any counterplay by attacking or priming. That much is clear; what's not so clear to me is that the structural advantages of anchoring outweigh the gains from hitting.
