I've been entertaining the idea of a bg Wikipedia.
some thoughts:
- neural nets can be applied to categorization (using XGID?) along with human selection. A search for positions with similar qualities should be possible with this AI.
- Can rollouts be automatically distributed for processing across the internet, like with SETI, the search for extra terrestrial intelligence that runs on thousands of pcs while they are idle?
- Once a neural net is trained can more positions be added to it to enhance its learning? I like Phil's idea of several top players playing out backgames against the bots, although I would let them play both sides and learn and than try to incorporate that into the neural net.
- All this could center around a GammonWiki with distributed processing.*
