Occasionally you here the sentiment that the modern bot(s) are so strong that evaluations or truncated rollouts are good enough.
XGR+ said the pass was wrong by 0.17 cubeful equity. Historically the bot evaluations (and their compromise relatives, truncated rollouts) have been considerably better with checkerplays (i.e. relative quantifications) that with cube plays (absolute quantifications). That appears to be (at least occasionally) true with the new ironman, XG.
