Problem 1 After missing yesterday's #5 by a mile, I'm back to underconfidence in my cube game. My initial thought was clear take, but double because of Brunie's race lead, moderate G-chances and less than perfect homeboard for Blondie. I'll go with that.
D+T.
Problem 2 I lock up the 6-prime. Brownie's timing isn't that great, combined with the hard-to-make open points. When things go wrong, it takes quite a parlay. Throw in more gammons for staying back?
4(2).
Problem 3 Blondie does lead the race, and the 11-point won't be so easy to clear in the future. (OK, neither will the midpoint, but it's at worst an indirect shot.) Even though Brown's 5-3 after 13/4 isn't fatal, it is a big advance. (And 4-4 probably IS fatal.) Throw in the fact that the fresh builders on the 6- and 7-points buy Blondie time.
11/6, 11/7.
Problem 4 8/4* gives Brown 14 return hits on Blondie's side of the baord. After making the 5-point I count 16 numbers for Brown which either hit on the 14-point or escape. After making the 10-point, only five numbers escape. Still, with opp on the bar it's hard to improve his side of the board.
8/4*.
Problem 5 29 (+4) pips behind and still not great timing for Brown.
D+P.
