Number 1. Blondie has position and threats. Race is close. Best news for Dagwood is the 4 1/2 point prime which is very nicely positioned relative to Blondie's anchor. I think that's enough to take. D+T.
Number 2. I see three plays worthy of consideration: 13/9*, 24/21, 2/1*, and 5(2). [Covering the 2-point isn't worthy, IMO, as it doesn't do enough.] Of those three, I toss out 13/9* since it doesn't add a valuable asset in a position that needs one. Even though 5(2) strips the 8-point, I just can't pass up making the best (available) homeboard point. And I can always blame Stick if I'm wrong. Summary: 5(2).
Number 3. Is this the poster-child for Timothy's Mythbuster request: "prime an anchor, attack a blot?" I'm game. Betty's strength is the better board. Veronica's weaknesses are the two blots. Hope I don't turn out to be Jughead. 13/9, 6/3*.
Number 4. Yes, two on the bar is worth a lot. But the risk is two direct shots, a stripped 6-point, and a back checker that is (presently) not in position to escape. Is it worth that? I think so. Hitting grabs the race lead (temporarily, anyway) and takes away Werner's initiative. 25/24*, 6/3*.
Number 5. Where's my coin? PRAT is very strongly 3 for 3. With these early game cubes I seem to swing wildly like a drunk monkey on a vine at night. Looks like it's pass's turn. D+P.
