After giving up your midpoint, its that much more important to make an outfield point like this. Not only that, but its not very dangerous not anchoring since he only has 3 checkers to hit you with in the zone, and they are all on the same point. Making your play, you can see that blue has two "blobs" of checkers cut off by a fluid distribution of white checkers, so white has a big strategic advantage.
