In Response To: Game Is Not Solved! (Fender)

Even though backgammon is not even in the partially solved list, maybe this can be conceived as "a purism detection test": those who permit the usage of "solved game" in a looser sense would not be eligible to the purist club. If a giant (no inverted commas here, that would be sarcastic) says "computers have solved backgammon", is that because he doesn't know what he is saying, or he is using the term in a looser sense, or he has a strange sense of humour? My guess is the middle one, but who am I to tell.
