Problem 1. Pottle's Rule? I've already forgotten the four bullet points. But one of them was "is there a good alternative?" Behind in the race, I'm going with one of those: 3(2)

Problem 2. The blot on the nearside isn't going away this turn. Stopping on the 18-point makes the checker on the 9-point more vulnerable. 24/13

Problem 3. A WDF problem! It's been a while. 9-point is too good to pass up, no matter what the alternative [24/22, 16/14, 11(2)?] is. 9(2)

Problem 4. This could be one of those positions I'm well known for -- can't even find one of the top three plays. I can (completely) give up the 9-point or the 8-point. Otherwise I can hit loose 5/1* and then find the best accompanying 3. Hitting should lead to more gammons and I think I'll duplicate for duplication's sake (actually, for builder sake): 8/1*

Problem 5. This is the kind of position I often overthink (with negative consequences). Blots are bad. Strong boards are good. Trapped checkers are scary but buried checkers are varnick. 7/4, 7/5
