Problem 1. Talk about QF! Of all the people who claim they would have seen an anchor breaking play here, I wonder how many I'd believe. OtB I would have played 8/4, 11/9 rather quickly. Now I see 8/4, 20/18 which makes White's 6-x quite awkward in the least and allows Blue to upgrade the anchor. Hope I remember this for the future because I've never seen it before. (Yeh, yeh, everybody else has.) 8/4 + OtB: 11/9; QF: 20/18.

Problem 2. If 13/8 is the five then 24/22 must be the deuce. (11-point builder isn't helping much, gives White a bunch of shots, and will need to be cleaned up soon.) How good is the double hit? It doesn't appear to fit the GP in that almost 1/3 of the time you lose the race lead AND your 8-point and you're entering a board where your other anchor-builder is efficiently blocked. Not for me. 13/8, 24/22

Problem 3. Clearing the 16-point MAY become an issue, but doing so now makes every 6-x roll by White either a game-winner or close. Behind in the race, I'm keeping my free safety and I'll let the strong safety move up and threaten the blitz. 13/7, 13/8

Problem 4. I think you need about 23-24% cubeless in order to take this. Racing equity (i.e. chances to win without hitting) look like about 12%. So you need about that much in hitting chances to take. One thing about this position is that Blue may be forced to run before he can do maximum damage to White's structure, let alone before he maximizes his hitting chances. Could be close (stronger yet, could be a pass). It certainly feels like a Take. Gotta double, though. D+T

Problem 5. I recently read an article.... :) Well, I think there were exceptions. I made the 1- and 3-points for a reason and I don't think that reason has changed. Take no prisoners! 8/7*, 13/10
