Do you think (not only Majestyk, the rest of the posters here too) it might be better for intuitive feel and reference positions to concentrate on one part of the game (opening, middle game, primes, races, bearing in and off, etc) when playing against the bot, rather than playing series of full games as I do now?
Here's something that may help. When you are confronted with a tricky decision, come up with some explicit verbal justification of your play rather than just playing what feels right. If you're playing online, you can even say something out loud because your opponent can't hear.
Sometimes the mere act of saying out loud what your reason is will suddenly make you realize that your alleged reason is nonsensical. On the other hand, if you come up with a reasonable-sounding justification (e.g., "It's a mutual holding game so I'm not going to leave a shot") and the bot dings you afterwards, then you have explicitly identified a gap in your understanding.
This will hopefully take some of the mystery out of some of your errors. Instead of being totally baffled ("What on earth was I thinking?"), you'll have some concrete information about what, in fact, you were thinking. Your intuition will not be just a mysterious faculty over which you have no control. As you train yourself consciously, your intuition should improve.
I think the way you train yourself and the way you approach your errors is more important than the choice of whether to play whole games or just focus on one type of position at a time. Both playing matches and studying specific positions are important.
