A good thing to know in such positions is that every additional checker on your 2-point is bad news for you, and that it can easily trump more obvious factors like leaving a blot. That being said, there are only two candidates left, 16/7 and 16/11 8/4.
The difficult part is to estimate how bad it is to get hit when you play the funky move. I would guess that the answer is "rather not good, but not that bad either". If that is correct then the play is clear. If you play 16/11 8/4 and get away with it (which you do 70% of the time), your position is much better than after 16/7. Next move you will almost always enter both your stragglers, none of them on the 2-point. After that sixes will be killed, and with the timing being pretty close, rolling a killed six in comparison to a six which you have to play 8/2, makes all the difference in the world.
