It is sick to see such intelligent people make dumb mistakes. They have no idea what they should be wagering or what decisions they should be making. I once saw in the second round of Jeopardy on the last question with Player A having a huge lead and Player B already having missed the question (a 2k question, Player C was out of the equation) Player A, if he doesn't ring in, can not be beat in Final Jeopardy. If he rings in and gets it wrong then Player B is back within' striking distance. The donkey rings in and misses ... unreal. At least the people on Wheel of Fortune have an excuse.
On a daily basis things happen where people don't look even one step ahead to the consequences. I've often thought about keeping a journal of everything that happens but I see no point to it other than maybe the possible venting/comical post here on BGO.
The last example that comes to mind is I was in a tennis workout over the weekend. We played something called 'Blackjack' (doubles) where the object is to get 21 exactly. If you go over you lose. You get 1 point for any normally won point and 2 points for winning via a volley. Needless to say we got to 20 all and the first ball was to me, I hit a drop shot to bring them in to the net, they push the ball back, I hit it to them at the net and they hit a volley right to me. I moved out of the way allowing the volley to be a winner. 2 points for them, they lose. To watch reality dawn on their faces after it happened was priceless.
