Some Clarification

In Response To: 1st International Backgammon Championship (Stick)

If Ray is leading the ABT point race come September then the second place ABT point leader will get a spot into the playoffs.

If you win any of the qualifiers, such as being the ABT champion from 2010 like Ray, the Giants Quiz or Invitational, or any of the ABT tournaments from now until the cutoff date you are qualified to compete for a spot to represent the US, you do not win a spot. There will only be 4 representatives for the US. Once we have all the qualifiers then we will continue to the playoffs where the field will be narrowed to our 4 representatives.

You can only earn 1 qualifying entry. In other words if you qualify once, you're in. There is no benefit from qualifying multiple times.

Concerning the tournaments and who goes furthest getting a qualifying spot, this is meant for the main draw only. It does not include the consolation or last chance. Whoever goes the furthest in the main draw will win a spot into the playoffs.
