Daily Quiz 4/25

Problem 1. Hard to believe 8/6(2) isn't the start. Now 24/20 is an option, but White is stripped so staying back, hoping to snatch another checker is very tempting. Meanwhile the loose checker on the 9-point isn't providing positive equity, so picking it up looks like a plus. 8/6(2), 9/5

Problem 2. I like my 5-prime too much to fear getting hit, staying out, having opp hurdle the mountain,... Keeping two checkers on the 16-point isn't so safe (longterm), anyway. 16/6

Problem 3. 13/7 and 20/8 look like three of the four 6's. Between 24/18 and 13/7, I'm running the back checker. Some of White's hits are otherwise good homeboard building opportunities, and most of them give me decent return hit chances. If missed, involuntarily or not, I'm definitely glad I moved up. 13/7, 20/8, 24/18

Problem 4. Do I get to play four 4's or just two? :) Hitting breaks the close race, so that's my third 4. My last decision is whether to get greedy with 13/9, leaving three scattered blots or just grab the defensive outpost and concern myself with new points/builders next turn. Blue is outboarded, afterall. I'd rather make a fresh start building next turn than have to scurry around cleaning up blots. 25/21*/17(2)

Problem 5. PRaT says Blue is three for three. Blue's builder distribution is poor and White has counterplay so the take looks pretty solid, but that shouldn't stop Blue from cubing. D+T
