Problem 1. Is this one for your "when in doubt" series? Hitting leaves ONLY 15 shots. I hate closing the gate to find the horses have already escaped. Behind in the race... (Behind in board strength, too, but that issue doesn't support my play. :) 24/22, 13/7*

Problem 2. I see four candidates here, but I'm guessing that's about two more than are relevant. You may not need the 5-point to win this game, but I don't really like any of the 3's after 15/11. Besides, anyone who makes his 2-point should see two Mexican Jumping Beans sitting on his 8-point. 5(2)

Problem 3. Not only is opp's checker on your 14-point not very threatening, but with three back already, how painful is the fourth? (I wonder if I make the 5-point EVERY time you post a problem where it's possible how wrong I am ever going to be. If you thought it was close then the old axiom must apply.) 5(2)

Problem 4. I made a note once that if your opponent has a less than perfect POTENTIAL 24-23 backgame that priming it is as good of a gammon maker as trying to prevent him from actually getting it. I'm going to apply that here. 10/7, 15(2)

Problem 5. "I don't like this, Raymond." 4's and 6's are blocked and Blue doesn't have oodles of time. White does have that one flaw, but I don't think it's enough. N+T
