recording of college matches

Constructive criticism. And in fact where I didn't have the facts I stated it. But it still stands that a collegiate event was advertised in public and you have a concern about people watching and possibly recording. The logic is baffling. USBGF should never have advertised if that was the case!
In fact all you had to do to mitigate this whole problem was have Gammonzone add a rule to the event: "Kibitzers are not allowed, and players are asked to use the "No Kib" option at the table under Table/table Options. You could have prearranged to have the players send you the match logs when they were finished so that you would be able to review them.
But if you want me to be more critical - Can I ask you why that you never seem to mention Gammonzone (Susan et all) and their hospitality to help run this event? Before you left Gammonzone's room you thanked everyone BUT Gammonzone. A fact I commented on right after you left in the lobby, and Joe Russell politely fixed. I also noted the absence of Gammonzone in your messages on this board as well.
I am not affiliated with Gammonzone beyond being an occasional player in their events but I think you should at least be fair and not exclude their volunteer time when you discuss this event.
When I watched the collegiate event (and I did so in another nickname) I was totally unaware of Bill's issues with you and the USBGF. I learned after the fact between your posts and Bill's over the last 5 days. With that being said, I was at all the matches and probably tried to actually "watch" a good third of them. Am I actually surprised that this whole "kibitzer" and "match recording" became an issue again? No, not when I know some of the people involved. I can just imagine what may have happened had I been there in my regular well known nic.
I set out my rules for posting matches a couple months ago on this forum. You may ask why I didn't run them on a bot or even post them on my site? Because this "hack job of a BG" player knows enough about the game to get a pretty good idea of skill level without a bot. I had no reason to analyse the matches. I actually did feel that because these were college students who were just learning that I would classify it as "potentially embarrassing" to post some matches that likely would have ended up in the beginner/novice category. So why did I watch? I was actually really curious how far new college level players can progress being taught over the course of a few months.
I have a lot of respect for these students for actually trying to learn this game and take an active interest, but I think you should seriously consider the fact that these college students are likely adult enough to take potential criticism if it is ever made to them. They probably get more embarrassed at the frat parties than they'd ever be playing the game of Backgammon in public.
What I am saying in a nutshell: "These smart college students don't need protection from the real world".
