I can see why 10 simulation could be enough to lead to some kind of convergence with your exponentially decreasing M-factor. But how much does the (random) order of entry by round affect the final result? Would it help to do the full simulation many times and combine those results?

In the end I doubt anyone would claim that these ratings carry much meaning in the usual sense -- i.e. the error bars must be huge -- but in the sense that they favor no one and they do lead to a 'clean' tiebreaking algorithm, it certainly appears to be a candidate.
