Can you imagine a tennis player letting his opponent take the point because he “forgot” that he couldn’t hit the net with his racket?
Let's give people much better and more appropriate example from tennis, shall we? ;)
Can you imagine Player A plays his move, ball lands on the line and chair empire yells "OUT!", then Player B says "It's not out, it was on the line"?Well, you should imagine that easily, because it is common practice for tennis players.
If Player B didn't speak up, he would win the point, maybe a game and maybe a set with that. And he would be playing by the rules and nobody could say a word against him.But - boom! Here comes the fair play.
What I would like to see in backgammon is players who act as Player B (something like Arda Findikoglu has done), and not like Ray Fogerlund (link to his (IMNSHO) idiotic "those are the rules, I've never heard of fair-play" behaviour in the third post of this thread).
