Correcting a wrong or unfair call by an official is an entirely different matter, and I totally agree that players must not take advantage of such unfairness. I was head referee for the sport of Racquetball and Rules Commissioner of that sport for several years, and one of the "Standards of Ethical Practice" of the sport was that players have a responsibility to be fair and honest. Unlike major league sports where a basketball player would never say "no, I didn't foul him" or a football player would never volunteer that he stepped out of bounds....there is a different ethic when you have professional referees. You know you will get some wrong calls for you and against you, and it is expected, in those sports, to live by the ref's call even if it is wrong.
