Sounds like there's some overlap here yes! :-)

BTW: Would you also play Pétanque for money?

I thought it was Kenny who was the pool-player among the backgammon players in west-Denmark maybe just because he always mention it! He he...

From your last post, I took notice that you listed yourself not just as a golf player nor a strong player, a tournament player or an elite amateur. But no less than a GOLF CHAMPION! :-) I guess you have won something important then? Personally I haven't played in 11 years, but are just picking up the game again this year, so I thought - wow - I could never beat a golf champion when being this much out of form... But hey - google's my friend and all, so I learned that you had trouble breaking 90 on your home links last year... Not just what I would personally call champion level. But I also learned that you are the reigning match play champion of your club (congratulations on that - and what a thriller ending at the final holes!) so there you go, you are indeed a champion!! ;-)

As for pool - I have never played any leagues or tournaments, but I think I'm pretty good for a recreational player and have often considered skipping a season of backgammon to try play some pool league instead, just to test myself. I know from other sports where I have played at a high level, that even very good recreational players have so much to learn, compared to players that are used to playing in competitions... Now here at +40 pounds from my best shape I can only turn to games that does not require that much fast movement :-) So it's backgammon, poker, pool, golf, pétanque, etc. Until I find the resources to run the fat off my body and get back in shape!!!

As for the triathlon you suggest, I have often toyed with the idea to arrange some biathlons within DBgF. Especially BG+Golf, but also BG+Pool because so many tournaments very played in the Fredericia Pool Hall and the Copenhagen Pool Center when that existed. And obviously BG+Poker, but the law issues in Denmark barred us from that one when we talked to Jes about it (at the River Club) :-( One of my ideas was playing a team tournament (4 players), where each player should play in two disciplines: BG, and then pool (2 players) and poker (2 players) - in some format.
