It's certainly your $ and your call, but it seems a bit odd to offer a contest, receive entries (I know, there is no entry fee), and then void it out and start over. And I know you are doing it for the right reasons.

What would make more sense to me is if you started a second contest. Sure, you run the risk of having to pay out to both, but with all the probabilities we've been providing, you ought to be able to calculate your expected loss, your 95% confidence interval, your max loss, your min loss, you name it! :)
