Should I switch from GNUbg to XG? What about BGblitz?

If you're going to pick one, I'd say to pick XG. It's fast, full-featured, and cheap. GNU is free and of course it's worth having, though I don't particularly like its UI (in my opinion, worst of all bots mentioned)--but it has many good features and plenty of people use it regularly, so that's not a fatal flaw.

XG's engine is reputedly the best (see studies etc.). Its UI is pretty good. The English-language documentation needs work (I would help with that but only in bits and pieces of time), but that doesn't matter too much because XG is easy enough to use.

The more of a backgammon geek you are, the more you should have all of the bots mentioned.
