Hotel rooms for college players coming to the Chicago Open

I shared a room with Big Ben at the CSI a couple of months ago to help defray his expenses -- and would do so again for him or another.
My personal opinion is that the college/young players should bear some of their own expense. We've apparently gotten a movement under way to pay for the entries of some or all -- obviously, I'm fine with that.
As I said, I'll share the expenses of my room if that helps someone. Rory, you might coordinate so that college/young players that don't know each other might be paired together in rooms to reduce their individual expenses.
We're all treading new ground here so I'm sure we'll learn and modify our thoughts and efforts with time. My initial thought is the payment of entry fees for college/young players in tournament cities should be a one-time occurrence per player. We might do the same next year, but those that received the benefits this year would not be eligible next year.
You all know many of my views from past discussions (arguments?) with Phil and others. So, I have some empathy with Stick's point. I'm willing to subsidize young college students (we were all there once) to help introduce them to tournament backgammon and to promote the game, but I don't think it should be a free ride.
I like the efforts here. We can critique and tweak after we see how it works out in Chicago.
