Double?

If you recube to 4, you will get it back at 8. On your gammons, you do not benefit at all from this, on your normal wins, just a little bit, instead of leading 7-0 you win the match. On your single losses you go from leading 5-2 to trailing 5-8 Crawford, a big loss. On your gammon losses you from leading 5-4 to losing the match, another big loss. Since you win so many gammons from here, you actually lose more games than you win singles, whereas you'd need to be a big single wins favorite to cube here. So the ND should be clear.
Somebody else will probably do the math, but in general, do not give gammonish recubes to 4 when far ahead, 4-away.
