pertinent excerpt from The Art of Learning

Oddly, I found the half of the book based on martial arts to be more valuable than the half of the book based on chess.

I wonder if that has to do with the order in which Waitzkin learned these two pursuits. As a child learning chess, he didn't have the experience/wisdom to understand what/why/how he was learning.
