I have the i3 3.14G which XG calibrates at 720,020 positions/sec. This computer is 6 months old (might as well be 100 years old I suppose).

I think some of us are getting spoiled. :) My laptap with XG1 has a cal of 427k eval/s and runs 3-3 rollouts just fine.

But to answer your question, it's likely you can upgrade your processor -- it just has to be one that is compatible with your motherboard. Whether you can get up to the new i7 2xxx series that Ed/Neil recommend, I don't know. You should be able to do some simple web searching like "upgrade CPU YYYY" where YYYY is your model number and find out. One caveat is that not all processors are available to everyone, i.e. in a quantity of 1. Some are only sold to BIG companies that buy thousands+ for installing in their new comps.
