In Response To: The right way to measure which player played better in a match (Casper van der Tak)

I thought what Casper was saying is that when the pressure is on (which for some might be late, particularly DMP when it's all on the line for sure), the MWC error will reflect that whereas the EMG error won't.

Of course that might be just a separate measurement: "who are the best pressure players?" which doesn't necessarily convert to "best overall player".

Also, I think Timothy (although he hasn't responded yet) was saying that statistically (and mathematically) speaking there is a problem with adding EMG whereas that's not the case with MWC. Kinda like adding adding a baseball player's batting average for the first half of the season to the BA for the second half of the season, dividing by 2, and then concluding the result is his BA for the full season. (My example isn't meant to be an exact parallel, BTW, but just a simple example of how some things make sense when they are added while other things don't.)
