My new laptop just arrived yesterday which also has the i7-2630QM processor. It calibrates at around 1.92M pos/s. It has an NVIDIA graphics card that uses a technology they call Optimus, which enables the machine to seamlessly choose between using the high performance graphics card and the on-board Intel graphics chip in order to save power when graphics demand is lower. There is a button on the machine that switches between Optimus and UMA modes. Apparently this has to do with memory management (and also power consumption). However, when I hit the button that puts the machine in UMA mode, it only calibrates at around 700K. This is a near 2/3 reduction in performance just by hitting a button. If anyone else has similar hardware, keep this in mind.
