I don't know what your play was but all plays except for the correct play are basically in the same category whether it be 22/21 13/8 or 13/7. After either of these plays you leave your opponent [11 22 33 44 55 21 31 61 32 42 52 62 43 53 63 54] to make either the five point, four point, or three point and all you'll have is a few indirect shots when the builder on the 11pt isn't used. Now, if you step out 22/16 how many of those rolls is your opponent forced to use in another way or if used in the same way do you get a direct shot + at the 11pt blot? Big difference. There will also be a difference on some of the rolls not listed there such as 65 your opponent won't be able to clear the midpoint. As already stated, this is a distraction action play. You need to mix it up now while you can. If you wait a turn it will be too late.
