Unfortunately there is not a simple answer to your question. There are a lot cheaper boards out there that call themselves "tournament size" that most people that play in tournaments would say are not. Generally 1.5 in checkers are a minimum acceptable size and 1.75 in (or the rough metric equivalents) is fairly standard and 2 in is sometimes used. Boards would be sized to accommodate those size checkers. The WBA and Danish rules have board sizes that are to be given preference over other boards in them.
