In Response To: Fairer Method When Exactly Three Players Remain In Draw (Chuck Bower)

ABT points were distributed along established standard methods. 1,2,4,8 ratio rather than prize pool methods so Chuck got a bit of a bonus but if the non byed Bob of Mochy had won they'd have received less than there prize pool % in ABT pts.

I think it would MUCH more fair to distribute ABT pts along prize pool lines when these methods are used when there's 3 equal finalists, but this method is only rarely used but since MoreSwiss is becoming quite popular (thankfully since I have nearly wornout my key board here screaming in its favor) I'll work on Bill Davis to see if in following years we can't have an equitable ABT pt distribution when we have to do a late round bye.

According to sims there was only a 10% chance to have three players at 9-2 with 58 entrants, but it happened and from a prize standpoint was handled fairly.

I spent nearly and hour last night with mathematical genius Bob Koca and we now have equitable methods to compensate for late byes basically no matter how many players remain equal at the end.

Ie.. suppose that the Masters has only 20 players....we can fairly handle playing down to 5 players. Once again the only added equity from the byes will be better chance to win trophy and title.

Perhaps sometime in Swiss we end up with seven players who are 8-3 and no oneis 9-2? No prob..can handle it fairly and end event in three rounds.
