scoring method like Buchholz

The bye could be awarded for the player from the group with the worst record but with the highest score of Buchholz or something like Sonneborn-Berger. As we have no draw in BG this could be like the full amount of points of their opponents (plus additional points for winning matches which depend on the opponents points or round numbers).
You can also look for the possible fixtures and determine the bye by levelling out the fixtures that players have played against each other the same amount. But for me this looks to be the same like a random draw for the bye.
With 3 remaining and 2 have one bye less then they could play a short tie-break for the bye
or they play a Cousulting Double against the third and we either have a semifinal or final
