Mr Majestyk say: The Keith Count adjusted pip counts in the above position are 27-31 but note blue has 5 single checkers on the 6,5,4,2,1. In white's case, a gap on the 4 and 5 carry penalties of 1 pip each. That being the case, a single checker would be worth 0.3*5, 1.5 pips; readjusting the pip counts to 28.5-31 where, the diff is 2.5; not bad huh!

Where, may I ask, do you come up with 0.3*5? Is this part of the Keith count? Thank you for the info.
