Problem 1 Guess we'll find out how Magriel's safe-vs-bold measures up with "when in doubt, make the 5-point." Even after making the 5-point, opp will have the better board (and another blot to attack). 14/10
Problem 2 Hitting is reflexive but the 23-point anchor reduces G-losses while giving Blue a decent two-way deep anchor game. White hits with seven rolls and makes his barpoint with three more. Not comfy but still a pulse. After hitting on the 13-point, nine fans are great for Blue but of the entering rolls, only {1-2, 1-3, 2-3} fail to hit (and even those hit if Blue wants to bananas split). I'm anchoring. 23(2)
Problem 3 Not Blue's best roll. White figures to be cubing and Blue's take may hang in the balance of what play he makes, although that doesn't help find the best play. If White rolls a five there's a pretty decent chance he gets away, so I'm leaving the blot on the 8-point. I don't see slotting the 4-point on top of that and 11/5 (stopping there) not only feels front-loaded but it doesn't leave any palatable aces. So 13/7 is the six. 11/10 brings that builder into better position at the cost of a bit less outfield coverage. And, again, the alternative aces look counterproductive. 13/7, 11/10
Problem 4 Running off the anchor doesn't look right and 13/3 leaves builders in better shape than 2(2). Also, the latter suffers from sixapartitis. 13/3
Problem 5 13/6 is getting ugly. It appears as though White gets to play prettily while Blue continues to play ugilly for the next several rolls, too. Six shots are really more like three because White can't hit and cover. 15/11, 13/8
