Why?
Don't we want to be "inclusive" (yes, it's a dirty politically correct word, but it applies here). One system would put all backgammon players on the same footing. Running two separate systems seems to go against the idea proposed by Ken.
Are there two separate systems in chess, golf, tennis?
Backgammon players should have one and only one rating. There may not be a "best" system, but one good enough may just do.
I like the suggested idea that *all* backgammon players (who are willing to get rated) should be linked by a common rating number. Doesn't chess do it that way?
