Yes, you are correct. I would quibble only with the word "distorts." This suggests that the phenomenon of the skilful players being luckier is some sort of aberration or mathematical artifact, and that if you looked at the situation the "right way" without any "distortion," then all players would be equally lucky. I would instead suggest that it is actually normal for skilful players to be consistently luckier if by "luckier" we mean having more total luck in a game.
