Ken, I can't say for certain that this position has come up in our chou, but I will tell you it would hardly be unusual.

One reason we use a baffle box is that we have a rule to always bear off away from the box. Most think that is because that side will be less cluttered with checkers and we will have fewer cocked sice. The "real" reason is that way we always know which is the home board. It often very hard to determine from the position.
