The race is close (yes, Blue is still behind) and the checker on the 18-point looks quite vulnerable. Note a 4 is White's worst die for safetying the back checker so 18/16 -- a candidate -- diversifies White's worst number. 18/13 seems to me like the correct 5. Now I move 5/3 instead of 8/6 since I might like to keep the 4-prime.

Normally when behind in the race I go out of my way to maintain maximum contact. Here the race seems close enough and the contact maintenance risky enough that I make an exception.

Summary: 18/13, 5/3.
