Woolsey's Wedge in the outer board

I was intrigued to discover recently that "Woolsey's Wedge" shows up in the outer board at pip count. 130. The diagram below displays the ideal racing position at that pip count. No other position has a lower EPC (effective pip count).
Admittedly, part of this happy appearance is just an artifact of my one-sided race table. It stops at the 11 point, and the checkers tend to back up there. But you still can see the parallels between bearing in and bearing off.
The reason that the bar point is such a poor way station for checkers coming home is the same reason that the one point should be shunned in a bear off. In both cases, you are too close to your destination to make efficient use of the dice.
