In Response To: Nactation Question — Clarifying the B, S and Z Families (Taper_Mike)

I don't think of a player's inner board and outer board as extremes, but rather as two adjacent halves of the board and on only one side of the board.

Even if the inner and outer boards are viewed as extremes, from each player's perspective they apply only to the near side of the board.

The so-called "midpoint" is not the 7pt or 6pt. Rather, it is situated midway (almost exactly halfway, in fact) between the point at which a player enters his checkers and the point at which he bears them off. Hence the name.

Forgetting about whether you think "midboard" will catch on (we can let others decide as a group), does the above clarification alter your opinion about plausibility?
