The so-called "midpoint" is not the 7pt or 6pt. Rather, it is situated midway (almost exactly halfway, in fact) between the point at which a player enters his checkers and the point at which he bears them off. Hence the name.

Well, I can see that you're going to win the argument against all the people who thought that the 6pt or 7pt is called the midpoint.

Forgetting about whether you think "midboard" will catch on (we can let others decide as a group), does the above clarification alter your opinion about plausibility?

I guess I'm just against it. It doesn't sound natural to me. The midboard should be in the middle, not at the 3/4 mark. Words are just symbols, however, so if and when it catches on, I'll be for it.
