We could estimate:

(1) When White doesn't anchor, how often does he win?

(2) When White anchors, how often does he win?

(3) How often does White anchor?

If (1) is close to zero, and we pick 50% for (2), then (3) would have to be about 2 in 3 for White to win 1 in 3.

For (1), close to zero seems about right.

For (2) and (3), 50% and 67% both seem improbably large, would you agree?
