XG oddities

While we're on the topic of XG oddities related to the cube, let me mention a couple of things I've noticed. (I'm still on XG1 so maybe things have changed in XG2.)
Suppose I asked for the "double action" for Black when White owns the cube. In GNU, it quite logically complains that "You can't double." XG, however, happily recommends that you double because you'll double your equity! Now maybe there's some strange variant of backgammon in which you can double the value of the cube when your opponent owns it, but it seems to me that the GNU behavior is the right one. (Either that, or asking for the double action should do nothing.)
Also, I've always been puzzled why there's an option on the drop-down menu for evaluating the double action that is separate from evaluating the position. It seems superfluous. If I have the position set to a cube decision, then evaluating the position will evaluate the cube, so evaluating the double action is a redundant option in this case. On the other hand, if I have the position set to a checker play (with the dice showing), then evaluating the double action does nothing. So what's the point?
