This is easily changed but some players won't accept the modifications. Bill Davis for example hates Swiss, he says it makes it too likely that a godd player will win.

I might have made this point before but the biggest fix is to use variance reduced results. Others would be to use Swiss instead of knockout and to use a little faster time control enabling the matches to be played to say 11 instead of 9.
